Clipper Corporation Gains Exclusive Viking License, Taps Malkasian To Lead Launch
Clipper Corporation has appointed Jeff Malkasian EVP, Consumer Packaged Goods, directly responsible for developing and launching a top-tier kitchenware program under an exclusive licensing agreement with Viking Corporation. According to Malkasian, the new Viking program, which will incorporate cookware, cutlery, tableware, barbecue tools, cutting boards and other non-electric kitchenware, will debut at the 2014 International Home + Housewares Show in a Viking-branded booth adjacent to Clipper's current exhibit space.
“We want Viking to be a destination brand for retailers,” Malkasian said. “We will maintain the image and quality of the Viking brand, keeping in mind the owners of Viking products.”
He added that Clipper Corporation will be responsible for the manufacture and distribution of the new Viking kitchenware initiative and will also continue to develop quality value cookware under its Clipper brand. Clipper will manufacture core Viking cookware in its U.S. facilities, with other product and line extensions being produced both in the U.S. and abroad, Malkasian noted.
Malkasian, who began his tenure with Clipper Corporation on December 2, comes to the company after 15 years with Bodum where he was most recently VP of Sales. Malkasian reports directly to Lina Hu, Clipper Corporation Chairman and CEO.
Prior to Bodum, Malkasian was a buyer for Cost Plus and May Company.
